I’ve been playing around with a miso/hot honey marinade. And I think this variation was almost perfect. I marinated my salmon in a red miso, soy sauce, hot honey, garlic powder, and ginger powder. I will add a bit of cayenne to enhance the hear next time.
Stir fry was just a little onion, ginger powder, garlic powder, soy sauce, and black vinegar.
A few weeks ago I tried to order some haiga Japanese rice, but I got the wrong rice and ended up with a traditional Japanese white rice. Haiga is a Japanese rice that is in between white and brown in terms of processing and nutrition.
When I went to the store, I saw this genmai brown rice so I decided to try it instead. And it is a winner. My new favorite brown rice. The texture is slightly less chewy.
My bowl was finished with a little extra soy sauce, and a little drizzle of toasted sesame oil. Super easy weeknight dinner – though I did give the salmon 3 hours of marinade time.
