Any ideas for how I would do a technique like this on a cookie?

1. Cut out a stencil of the shape you want from an acetate sheet or something similar 2. Put stencil on pre-iced cookie 3. Use either watered-down icing or food coloring with high-proof alcohol to make the splatters one color at a time – dry in between colors 4. Remove stencil and do light splatters

I think it would look quite cool as a negative space kind of thing. Scrape the cookie with icing, splatter your colors, outline your image after it’s dry and flood the rest with white. Add a few more spots of color by dabbing then on with a scribe or paint brush. As the other poster said, mix food coloring with alcohol (everclear or high-proof vodka ideally) and dry in between colors
