Trip in from the coast I know it’s a long drive for you to be here and I’m excited cuz you always bring delicious things yes we’re going to be trying spicy fish are you ready I’m ready I’m excited good we can and we can adjust the spice level for whatever you have in

Mind yes you’re going to have to tell me when we get to that stage how spicy you like things okay cuz I like to spice it up okay I’m I’m getting better I’m starting from mild and trying to build my taste buds to better Toleration cuz there’s good food I’m missing out on

Okay where do you start okay so first things first we’re going to dress the fish we’re going to add a little bit of olive oil to the dish and this is pretty much going to be a on Dish thing right completely one thing yep and then we’re

Going to be adding I’m going to get gloved up here and I’ll add onions first okay um and then the fish goes right on top and that way there’s a little bed for the fish love that and and what kind of fish do you prefer with this recipe

You caught it yourself 100% it must right there’s little to no fishy taste it’s so fresh yum so we’re going to putting this right on top then we’re going to add the lemon juice straight on top of it nice then we’re going to add the lemon

Zest ooh juice and zest yes so it’s a lot of flavor here and a little bit of cumin okay a a lot of veget a lot of dishes in Lebanon and in the Middle East are made with cumin to give that deep flavor yeah and a little bit of garlic

We can’t go far without our lemon and the garlic yeah no then we’re going to Salt it super simple for the kind of base layer of flavor just to cook the fish that’s right and some pepper and then this gets baked for a little bit okay

Until we make this so while this is baking then we’re going to make our tahini sauce that perect okay we’re going to make tahini sauce yes we’re going to make it so this goes in the oven fabulous and it gets cooked up a little bit and while that’s there we’re going

To add tahini to a jar yum and I like to add a lot okay and is this sesame based is that what tahini starts out as okay it’s crushed sesame seeds Okay so it’s um it’s kind of like our version of a creamy sauce but with any dairy okay

Perfect that we use and we’re going to add half a lemon juice and while I’m adding the rest of the stuff do you mind crushing the need to work okay in my fancy garlic Gadget okay let’s see if I can do this smush you got it yes oh man

Okay and then just push the edges in that’s right and all these 1 2 3 four five yep so five that’s what I like to hear adding some coriander that’s ground okay and is this a super traditional recipe is this some that you grew up eating yeah I actually grew up with my

Grandma making this my mom making it and my grandma was um she liked all the spice let’s just say that sure oh for sure yeah she would add all the spice in there and I love it but um now that I have four kids I add just a little bit

We make it tame but full of flavor go there you go and then as they grow you guys can even kind of make your own versions of it too of your favorite spices and flavors to add yeah that’s right okay and so how spicy do you

Usually like than I’m not very spicy but I want you to do what you think so we’ll add a little bit and then a little bit more yes yes I’m up for the challenge okay a little bit and a little bit more works for me okay so now we’re going to

Mix this and it’s going to be a little thick so we always like to water it down to make it so about a half a cup to a cup worth of water okay and it needs to be runny so that it can coat the fish I and not be

Um be easier to grab it okay all together that is falling so good yeah you want to get a little yes oh my gosh I’m so excited good okay so then this goes right on top of the fish let me grab it our TV magic fish look at this it

Looks so delicious okay okay let’s put it here and do you do this sometimes with just a whole fish to begin with not even a fillet yeah yeah it’s easier to do it and I think it’s more traditional to do a whole filet so this gets right poured right on

Top oh my gosh so much flavor in there mhm okay so we’re kind of baking in the layers of all the seasonings that’s right so mix that in flat as much as possible and it will start to um I guess go a little bit all over the

Place once it’s in the oven so we’re going to bake this 400 for about 15 to 20 minutes or so it really just depends on the type of fish that you’re using and how thick it is but until it’s flaky okay and once it’s coming out then we

Add the lemon so we can add that now um little bit of lemon on top yum and jalapenos I always add a lot of jalapenos to this recipe spicy super spicy and then is it the seeds you can take your leave depending on how spicy

To that’s right or you can leave out the jalapenos if you don’t want added if you’re it fored inen and I’ve already pre-made another one that will take out yum I’m so excited and then when it comes out this dish is pretty cool because it’s a lot

Of it’s a little bit of a kick it’s a little lemon garlic and we get to put fresh herbs and a crunch on top gosh a little bit in some toast toasted cashews toasted pine nuts oh nice and slivered almonds right on top so you get a little

Bit of crunch while you’re eating it why not that sounds amazing and we’re going to add in some cilantro I love cilantro me too I can’t believe some people don’t like it well it gives them that that soapy flavor I don’t that yeah that gets the Soapy flavor I guess we’re just

Lucky about it yes we’re so blessed we’re so blessed okay so now we’re going to serve you okay some over here and I this beautiful bed of rice yeah little turmeric rice for some color oh my gosh I cannot wait to dig into this and the all the onions down there
