I absolutely love their products, but they have consistently been sharing some really sketchy canning videos on their Instagram stories or popping up as a collaborator in various videos. The most recent I've seen is this one about pressure canning alfredo sauce. As a canning company that is becoming more and more popular, selling pressure canners and lids, sponsoring Canuary on YouTube, etc. I would just expect some basic knowledge of safe canning practices. Right?

A screenshot of a response from forjars about an video titled “canned Alfredo sauce.” They replied “Hello, how do you know it is unsafe”
well…. how DO you know they are unsafe?
I’d just respond and ask them to provide you the lab test information on safety.
Perhaps they did their own testing and we are unaware.
Even though we do know that it’s not safe according to testing done by the testing agencies that we have come to trust.
I agree with everyone that you’re probably not getting through to the actual company at this stage. The person you’re chatting with is likely someone they’ve hired to just deal with the DMs, and may or may not know anything about home canning unfortunately. And although they should ideally have gotten some basic training before being let loose to answer questions in the wild, they likely didn’t.
