I don’t think any diet can solve depression. I do think that taking care of yourself by eating good foods and exercising can make you healthier overall and that could – emphasis could – improve your mental health. I will note as someone who has had friends with depression, one of the big issues is having the energy and ability to do things like make healthy food and exercise (exercise, I believe has been shown to help with depression). Not a doctor.

I also think these kinds of click-baity headlines (on the video, not the post) is one of the more unfortunate trends in our society. I don’t even blame the creators because everything has to be monetized and this is what you get in that system. It’s just unfortunate because instead of focusing on the boring – try eating healthier and exercising more – we get this whole cheat-code-ification of life. When life, honestly, is harder than that. I also think many people look to these things because in the U.S., at least, a lot of people cannot easily access healthcare and mental healthcare is even harder than physical.

Yes..in the way it modifies your gut micro-biome. They’re has been research linking the state of your gut flora health to depression and anxiety. A high fiber plant based diet is good and the standard “murican” diet is bad.
