I tried making blackberry jam for the first time last fall and made about a dozen jars…most of them turned out great but as I opened one this morning I noticed this crap on the top of the jam in this jar. I’m worried that it might be mold…should I toss it or is this normal?

That’s fluffy, i’d lean towards mold and not eat it
With blueberry jam, my first thought is always crystallization. I don’t know why, but my blueberry jam always gets sugar crystals after it has been disturbed.
But…..sugar crystals aren’t fluffy. My best guess is that is mold.
I see it looks like the band off to the right of the picture. Was this stored with the band on? This is not recommended as it can hide a false or failed seal. Did you otherwise follow safe canning practices? To me this looks like mold and I would throw it out. Depending on how you processed and stored the rest of your jam they may be good and this may have just been a failed seal.
100% mold!
Definitely mold
Looks like mold to me. What was your method? Did you use an approved canning procedure or was this open kettle canned? Never skip the step of heat processing your finished product (it only takes ten minutes in a water bath for 1/2 pints). That said, did it make a pop when you opened it? Sometimes there’s a seal failure (through no fault of your own) that results in food spoilage.
Zoom in, it’s fuzzy=mould. So sorry
