Can anyone anyone tell me what kind of cheese this is?
My mum bought this at a market a while back and can't remember what it is any more.

My guess is some sort of cows milk alpine style cheese. If you have pics of the rind, it may help

I think it’s safe to say you should slice it, layer it perhaps with some onion or a bit of fig jam, and make a grilled cheese sandwich. If that end edge super hard, slice it off and keep it to throw in a soup you make later.

Sorry, I thought I posted this last week. It’s a Comté cheese, I found another piece with the name visible on the rind.
