Matthew Kenney, one of the most famous names in plant-based cuisine, painted a rosy economic picture of his businesses in a March 2022 email to an investor. “We hope to be generating more than 100M system wide this year and 250 next year,” he wrote, adding that his company was valued between $50 and $100 million.
