1 lb ground beef or turkey 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped 4 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 cup breadcrumbs 1 large egg 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp dried oregano 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese 8 small mozzarella balls (or 8 cubes of mozzarella cheese, about 1/2 inch each) 2 tbsp olive oil 2 cups marinara sauce
Instructions:🥣
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped spinach, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, oregano, and Parmesan cheese. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated. Take a small portion of the meat mixture and flatten it in your hand. Place a mozzarella ball in the center and carefully wrap the meat around the cheese, forming a ball. Ensure the cheese is completely covered. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides, then transfer them to a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs in the baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through. Serve hot with extra marinara sauce and a sprinkle of fresh basil if desired.
