My weekly segment Taste of Alabama on ABC3340 Focus@4 features a downtown hot dog vendor.
[Music] when you’re alone and life is making you lonely you can always go downtown I’m Greg knuckles and I’m proud to be a hot dog vendor so what would you like on your dog I moved back to Birmingham a couple of years ago and decided to start a business here and and and did some research about hot dog vendors and and the fact that you’re outside all day long and serving customers serving great food and I just wanted to give that a try light mustard don’t like that my favorite hot dog has got to be the bacon and blue cheese dog it’s a 100% Angus beef hot dog with with with crispy bacon blue cheese our special sauce brown mustard and caramelized onions get you today Wow it’s unlimited by your creativity I mean just I’ve got the standard condiments you know the ketchup mustard onions kraut relish and special sauce but I’ve also got chilli and caramelized onions and blue cheese and jalapeno peppers and and and bacon and homemade coleslaw keeping it simple so you can taste that delicious meat couple hundred a couple hundred cranking them out I like for folks to be able to tell me exactly what they want on a dog and this is the way Eugene likes it it’s never boring done you need all kinds and see it all and that’s what makes it a lot of fun being down here you’ve got options now I mean though the restaurants are fantastic but long gone are the days where Street food was sketchy it’s you know you have food trucks run by professional chefs it’s the street food scene is fantastic and you have lots of options downtown just give it a try Greg’s hot dogs they’re delicious [Music] you [Music]

Not with the pink hospital basin 🤢
I love something like that, even from a luxury fast food restaurant
What camera did he use to record this
God Bless Street vendors
Street food is supposed to be the best food cuz you don’t charge an arm and leg and you get the awesome flavor down home cooks

I've wanted to own a little hot dog cart, it's convenient for a quick bite to eat instead of drive thru. Maybe someday 😌
That dude, in the pink, is holding back on the 'visual' aspect of enjoying a hot dog AND the sun. Wish I could do that when I have a hot dog. I remember my brother lying to me about how 'condiments' make hotdogs really good for you. I'm always surprised that people think hotdogs are bad for you. You can't eat them too much. But it's the same with like fried chicken or steak. When you DO eat it, it's good for a part of you that 'itches' and is hard to 'scratch.'
No Corona GOOD TİMES 🙁
I did my own hot dog and it is really owesome.

Do you toast your buns? I don't know if I have time for that. I'm opening up my push dog cart tomorrow.

How do you keep the burners lit on a windy day? I had to walk away from a gig today. My Big Dog hot dog cart would not stay lit!
Hey Gregg. How do you stop your hot dog cart from moving/flipping? I first used cynder blocks but way too heavy.
