Hi! So I’m currently running a small home baking business for macarons and I’m thinking of changing my packaging

Option A – what I currently use.

Pros: prettier than B

Cons: sometimes sloshed around during delivery, mini marshmallows are an added cost, pain in the ass to pack and Tetris everything to fit, pain in the ass to open the lid and grab a single macaron out of the fridge to eat

Option B – what I plan to use for instock pieces (planning launch a sanrio collection for customers to mix and match)

Considering switching my custom orders over to packaging B as well.

Pros: easy to pack, uses less marshmallows, can store in the fridge without lid and just grab pieces out, plastic wrappers stop pieces from sloshing around as much left and right during delivery

Cons: less pretty compared to option A imo

What do y’all think? And what would you prefer as a customer?

As a customer, B would be better in my opinion as I want the macarons to hold their shape and not get crumbled or destroyed during the shipping process. B still looks good, though A is just a little bit cleaner looking.

I’d say B. It looks very clean and if the cookies move the crumbs stay in the bag.

Stunning work! I can see the attention and heart you put in your art.

How about the customer has the option? I think A is better for parties but B is better for preserving if the customer plans to not eat them all at once

  5. B reduces the chance of them breaking, but I would prefer A since is more eco-friendly without all that plastic

As a customer, I’d pick A because of less plastic use.

I dunno how copywrite laws work in Singapore, just be careful when it comes to sanrio branding and double check that everything is good! Legal fees are hard to deal with anywhere!

Since you are not shipping, as a customer I would much prefer A because of less plastic but also because it feels more homey. Like a friend delivering you cookies not a store bought package.

  9. A for sure. I don’t buy things with excessive plastic. But honestly I’d probably choose neither because it still has a plastic lid. I’d prefer just a regular, solid paper box, like the cake box style ones. I don’t need to see the pastries all the time. I’ll see them when I grab them and they’ll still be just as pretty.

A I would buy, B I would never ever buy because of all the wasted plastic.

🥰Love seeing SO many responses supporting less single-use plastic. 🧡🧡🧡

B is probably safer for shipping, they’re more protected. A looks more luxurious, plus less plastic. However, buyers might complain more often about broken cookies if you use A, and it’ll be more expensive for you if you have to refund them or rebake.

As a consumer, I’d buy either of these.

  13. A) really lets the colors and presentation shine! ✨

This is too cute for my eyeballs!!
