I dropped by Septime last month while I was in Paris for a few days. Overall it was a great meal, and Septime remains one of my favorite restaurants in Paris. I think the one star rating in the Michelin guide is quite warranted, while the no. 24 ranking on the 50best list is probably too generous given the sheer number of other amazing restaurants out there.

The quality and freshness of the ingredients were noticeably high, and you could tell the skill that went into the preparation of each dish. Service was decent, though it can be somewhat hit or miss in my experience depending on the particular staff.

The menu is reasonably good value, totaling €135 for the seven course tasting menu. If you come for lunch it’s even better at 5 courses for €85. The wine list is only okay; it’s good in a global context but a bit mediocre with respect other options in Paris in my view.

Overall, Septime is definitely worth stopping by if you find yourself in Paris for a few days.
