I was given 4 of these jars and I've never seen anything like them, they have glass lids and really deep collars. The only info I was given was they belonged to the lady's grandmother in law (and she's not a young lady herself) lol. I was hoping to use them for dry goods (not to can with) but no idea about where to start looking for replacement parts, any help would be appreciated

i have horrible eye sight so i can’t see what the jars say, but maybe if you haven’t already try googling the jars writing? not sure what type of jar they are but they’re sweet. update me if you find out because i wanna see if i can find some😂

These look very close to the Gem / Improved gem / jewel jars. The ring & lid size is 78mm. There is a reusable glass lid + reusable gasket + thick metal ring setup or a metal lid + slimmer ring setup. These are still used like crazy in Western Canada (mainly prairies). Feel free to ask me any questions about them, I have a lot of them as they are HARD to get rid of here 😅. If you’re in Canada, feel free to DM me and I can see if there’s a way to mail some parts to your city.
Bernardin / Ball recently stopped making the metal lids but a new company started up and quality seems okay so far. The metal lids need the thinner canning ring so make sure to grab both if you end up buying the metal lids.

Some of the older thick rings will be a metal that rusts really easily, you can restore them with barkeepers friend or CLR and a lot of elbow grease, then take care of them by adding a thin layer of oil every so often so they stay rust free. Another version of the thicker ring is more aluminum based and holds up a lot better, which yours might be
