If you ask about olives – I do cut them exactly like you but I am not related to any Italian roots so I can’t tell you how it should be properly made. However I like your dish ?

I usually mince the olives and capers to roughly the same size because I like what it does to the flavours. I learnt this from one Italian friend of mine (who was from Lecce), only for the both of us to be rinsed over it by our friends from Napoli.
