I did the exact same thing half an hour ago for my Sun Golds, with the exact same equipment. I had to shake my head and wonder if I’d posted when I wasn’t looking.
I had to do the same with my Sun Golds. Top of the trellises is 8 feet.

Did that last year and worked fine up to around 10 feet

I gave away a bunch of Sun Gold starts at work this year since everyone loves them, tried to warn about how big they get but I don’t think anyone believed me, guess they’ll find out 😂

This works, btw. I did it last year in a panic in late July. Getting ahead of them this year.
