I just bought a mandoline slicer, and its minimum setting was 1.5mm which seemed thin when I was looking at the box in the store, but they came out too thick. Fortunately, when it was put into “storage” setting, there was enough flex in the plastic to get them coming out practically transparent! I threw the 1.5mm slices in between the patties and grilled the perfect ones directly in the meat, Motz-style. I’m still reeling over here.
