Not too bad for being manufactured 6 states away and cooked in 2022. That on board microwave does a decent job of killing the pathogens and melting the cheese like product.

The Alaskan Airlines western cheeseburger is pretty good.

The thing with “first class” is it’s more like “treat you like a human” class. You’re getting to sit in a seat that’s sized for an average US adult instead of something sized for a skinny middle schooler. You get greeted and called “sir” or “maam”. And you get food that isn’t too far off from what you could be served at a fast-casual restaurant.

Are there still people dumb enough to get on an airplane hungry?

    1) That doesn’t look that bad
    2) pedantry alert! Airplanes don’t use microwaves

ex-United Airlines employee here — the food is the same pre-made stuff they sell to major grocery stores. Literally, the contracted company that has a giant production facility *at the airport* also sells that same food to local grocery stores. It’s not 5* Michelin quality but pretty decent.

Cheddar is always the wrong choice for a burger.
