I’d say so, a 2 pack of prime ribeye in Florida at wal mart is about $35-38

If you buy them, remove them from the packaging before you microwave your steaks.

  3. Yes, if you don’t mind that you have to cook them in the microwave.

Marbling looks decent. $10 a pop? I’d buy it.

  5. cheddarjakecheese

That’s crazy cheap for that amount of marbling. I’d grab a few packs and invite some friends over for that.

I literally bought these from coles earlier this week. Except they may have been on special at mine cos they were $16, which…for 480 grams is a VERY good price, but $20 isn’t bad either and you won’t be able to get it much cheaper in Australia. Aldi’s does bulk packs of the same cut, but the quality is often a few rungs lower; less marbling, tastes older.

I also reccomend taking the packs for a walk over to the produce section for a quick weigh. The ones I got were pretty on-point, but I’ve heard cole-worths can be sneaky sometimes.

Edit: whoops, didn’t see that yours were also on special. Yeah, I didnt regret it at all. Even my partner who isn’t exactly a connoisseur and whom I didn’t tell was eating a different cut, commented unsolicited that they were particularly good compared to the usual steaks. So yeah, get it.

Look pretty good, especially for the price. Id definitely give it a shot

Well I know one of those is a 30-40$ meal for just one steak at most restaurants(plus a side or 2)

They’re security tagging meat now, hey? Oh, what a time to be alive. 🤦🏻‍♀️

  14. SocialistIntrovert

Security protected STEAKS?? With a label warning you not to microwave your steak with the plastic still on it. Classic

  15. Fred_Krueger_Jr

Security protected? Interesting, I’ve never seen this before.

  16. My roommate in college used to steal packs of steak in his waistband 😆 wish they had alarms on those

  17. M…*Microwaving*? o_O

    This isn’t a cup of instant mac n’ cheese…

  18. kundalini_genie

good marbling but the spinalis on the left steak is extremely small, which is literally the best part. in the future look for a steak with a smaller “eye” and a bigger fat cap at the top

  19. 20 bucks omg what a great price… i cry here in switzerland when i go to my supermarket or the butcher…

  20. Dollarhayes

Well if they put security tags on it then it’s gotta be good 😆

  21. Has anybody here microwaved a steak? Not gonna lie, I’m fascinated by what the results may be.

  22. astroryan19

  25. WafflesZCat

  26. traindriverbob

They look like scotch fillets to me /s

I don’t trust Coles meats. Sometimes you get good meat, sometimes it is soooo average. The quality is so up and down. I’d rather pay a bit extra at my butcher. At $40/kg it’s not overly expensive though.

I bought some a few months ago that looked like this. When cooked the steak was so meh I swore never Coles again.

  27. ElectroChuck

Not to me. They’d make good hamburger maybe.

  28. Art_by_Nabes

Pretty good deal! Here in Canada that would cost you a weeks pay cheque.
