I think I could’ve done better with the crust, but that’s just my opinion

  1. Inside looks great, outside looks boiled. Too low of heat is usually the culprit which is sometimes the obvious (heat not high enough, didn’t pre-heat pan and oil) or sometimes crowding the pan, like you squeezed two or more into the same pan.

The lack of crust is what kills it for me. Really could use a mean crust then you’re golden. On a side note the potatoes don’t look great to me either but to each their own.

Looks like you forgot to sear it and make a nice crust. Not the end of the world obviously but not ideal either

  4. Just needs more crust, season heavily and higher heat. I’d quarter the potatoes and then roast to get crispy, add green onions, parmesan, and sour cream… perfection!

inside looks great. i prefer some sear and crust. you are just gonna have to try again.

I’d devour this. Yeah it could be seared more but as long as it’s well seasoned it looks baller

Saw you used olive oil. Try to use an oil with a higher smoke point. Make sure you dry the steak before you put it in the pan. Ideally, you use a cast iron pan but a thick stainless steel pan would work as well. Also try not to move the steak as it’s cooking, let it cook on one side until you flip it for the second half. Anything I’m missing guys?

Besides bombing you with hate I’m going to give you a tip, don’t be afraid to season up with black pepper that always helps create a great sear, pat down dry before seasoning and make sure you have a nice hot pan, don’t over crowd the pan or it will be too many juices which won’t allow you to get that sear. I would still eat this steak no doubt about it !

  9. noobyeclipse

no sear but the inside looks very good, if i were you id still call it a success

  10. Inside looks perfect(to me) outside looks um, creative… Def sear w higher heat, pat dry and maybe salt a hour prior to cooking

  11. HairyStyrofoam

The cook is good but what the actual… how do you cook a steak like that with no graying AND no sear? I would be impressed if there was a good char/crust on that baby

  12. I’m vegetarian and this post makes me wanna try this

  13. carlweaver

Looks like a good internal cook but it could use a sear.

  14. Just a lil more sear and it’s perfect but looks good

  15. MooseCentral1969

    Now Im hungry………..just right btw.

  16. Nice cooked temp 👌

Instead of using oil, try ghee butter (clarified butter). The milks solids are removed and has a much higher smoking point. Gives a great sear. (Make sure the pan is really hot)

Afterward, you can quickly saute some shrooms and onions. It’ll soak up that butter and pick up whatever remnants of flavor left behind from the steak.

    Happy eating!

Higher temp sear next time. Short and hot,(with Borat’s voice here) like my wife.

OP hasn’t made steak in a while because it takes 2 weeks to cook one in his Easy-Bake oven.

  19. I’ll eat that, but yeah, people with not hot enough pan, consider buying a blow torch instead!

  20. mcsmackington

While it could use some crust, if somebody (friend, SO, whatever) served me this I would be extremely happy. I hope you enjoy (: the temp is perfect

  21. phlegmatichippo

Woah. Tough crowd. Looks good. Yes sear is sub par but the pink is popping.

  22. TheElitist921

Not terrible. Just need a harder sear. Higher heat, less cook.

  23. Try searing in high heat with a Worcestershire glaze. Looks good internally. I’m sure it tasted good!

  24. henrydaiv

I know your steak is getting harassed for having no crust but I do think it looks yummy regardless.

But we need to talk about your taters…

  25. catchmeifyoucanlma0

My brain says no..but…I still wanna try it lol.

  26. Poppa-Skogs

Massacred my boy… You can go back to your hiatus

That looks so damn yummy. What is the white sauce if you don’t mind me asking?
