Higher end yakitori in NYC. Cooked every well but compared to higher end yakitori in Japan, almost triple the price at 185 usd plus tax and 20 percent tip compared.

Also overcooked by Japanese standards as they have to fulfil local health regulations and no exotic parts for order.

However this or Kono are probably the top yakitori experiences in North America.

Of the two – Torien / Kono – which did you like more or would recommend? We’re going to NY in September and I want to go to one of them. Thanks in advance.

Echo the overcooked sentiment, will also say it’s wildly different when you have Yosuda vs when you have the other gentlemen cooking imo. Apprentices in the US in general feel more green than the places in Japan
