My very first attempt at cooking a steak for me and my girlfriend. How did I do?

Needs more salt, to be patted dry and to be rubbed with some oil to aid with crust.

In order to get it to crust up you need both high heat and the steak as dry as possible

The oil I like just because it acts as a conductor I guess or it just helps

I would probably cook off the direct heat in the beginning and finish over high heat personally and I like to flip every 30-45 seconds so the temp consistently evens out and helps with the super minimal grey band you got.

Great job dude! Not a criticism, just some recommendations of things to try in the future. Be damn proud of,yourself

They look good 👍…but try to rub avocado oil on the steak before you start seasoning it and use coarse sea salt mix with your spices!! McCormick Montreal steak seasoning is an option! Try only with coarse sea salt!!

I’d eat the fuck out of them. Absolute banger

Great job! try dry brining next time! Simply salt your meat the night before and allow to sit overnight cook when you’re ready the next day!

Nicely done! The potatoes need a lil loving (green onion, salt, pepper and some bacon bits of course).

  6. Looks like a steak I would eat!! I do like mine just a bit more red but I am able to get the perfect doneness I like about 50% of the time.

Edit: also more salt. It’s crazy how much salt you can put on a good steak before it is over salted.

Fantastic. Did she like it? You can judge the quality of the date by how rare they like their steak

  8. Close to perfection. Next time try searing the fat side👍🏻

I mean the answer comes from you bud. Did ya get laid? If not, then ya gotta do better.

  10. Looks excellent. Grilled Asparagus goes great with steak too!

You seasoned it. You cooked it. You rested it. Nicely done! You hit all the main elements.

Personally, I dont think it was your first time. Those grill marks are excellent. And that char is as well. If it really was, bravo!

  13. You got lucky… twice I hope!! Good looking steak

Look damn good — draw back is little crust but hard as hell to get good crust without overcooking I’ll sacrifice the crust for medium rare Everytime.
