A few of my garlic are coming up like this, with the cloves separated. Anyone know what that means and if they will dry okay?

They won’t store as long, so use them first. They should have been harvested sooner.

Looks like you’re picking them too early

Mine came out the same. I think i left them in too long bc each individual cloves started to develop its own scape.

Looks like witches broom. I had a few do this too.
Per my research, fine to eat but won’t store as long

I’ve generally tried to use these first like people say but I’ve also had some last over a year in the garage with no care given so don’t worry too much about such things.

About where are you located? I’m around Toronto and waited a bit too long last year and don’t want to miss the window this year. We just removed the scapes last weekend so I don’t think it’s time to pick yet – but want to start thinking about it.
