I posted about a year or so ago about a trash corner slice from L&B that ruined my life.

My husband is a fanatic however, so I had to go back, and it was way better this time so I thought I’d give credit where it’s due. The sauce is a little sweet for me but I get why, for a certain palette, it’s considered toppish tier. Don’t get a corner though!

  1. Every so often, I crave L&B’s – but it’s so different from other places, it’s hard to compare head-to-head.

I won’t place it “above” other places, but when the specific craving hits, nothing else can fit the bill!

It’s not my favorite, but I love how unpretentious it is, especially given how pizza in NYC can get

Spumoni Gardens is my top favorite sicilian slice. I just love making the trek over there when im in NYC!

It has its appeal, but I would never recommend someone to go out of their way for it. Half the reason you go there is for the vibes and not really the food. Also, their regular slices suck. If you’re not into Sicilian, definitely pass on it.

i dont know about your guys, but i think the sandwiches they have there are fucking amazing.

the Chicken Cutlet, Fresh Mozzarella & Sun-dried Tomatoes is my favorite.

They’re going to take my native card away for this but calling this abomination pizza is tragic.

    The spunoni is great, though.

Oh yeah, I’m definitely a middle slice kind of person. Good thing my husband loves the corners. And I’ve always gotta have the Spumoni. I’m glad you gave it another chance. 🙃

  8. Unfortunately, went there yesterday for some squares, man were they bad. Undercooked, sauce tasted like ketchup and had the texture of a donut like chew to them.

They had pies already made and the people that wanted pies were handed stuff that was sitting for probably an hour or so.

4 dollars for the tiny chewy siclian and regular slices. Not sure what’s been happening to this place for the last few years.

I think foodie culture overwhelmed this place. I went there 20 years ago with my brother in law from Queens- and it was incredible- I understood the mythical NYC pizza suddenly. Went there a couple years ago and they were swamped w crowds. My pizza was rushed out and weirdly undercooked, completely doughy. A forgivable offense, but I’ve heard it from others. I hope they are hearing that and have slowed down a bit in the kitchen. I bet it’s still bomb in the sit down section.

My husband only gets a corner and a side, I get a side and a middle.  Everyone has their own favorite.

This thread is breaking my heart! I haven’t been there in awhile, and it sounds like they really went downhill 😱

L&B has been my favorite spot for as long as I can remember, but these descriptions are just mind boggling to me. I hope they go back to their roots soon!
