A server walking around a cocktail party with these would be fine, maybe a better way of holding them than a thick block of wood but the idea is great for an event where everyone is standing and holding drinks as well.
Bit of an odd setup for a sit down appetizer though. At least the food isn’t touching the wood block, it’s on a good appropriate skewer, but a small plate and set of chopsticks would be nicer.

Then again a staple of birthday parties in the UK as a kid was a cheese and onion/pineapple hedgehog.
