I remember once there was this local burger joint that was quickly becoming super famous for their amazing burgers. This girl at college, who had gone, was telling me this amazing burger she’d had with onions. In retrospect I’m pretty sure she was describing a “western” burger, you know, with bbq sauce and and in onion ring.
At any rate, a few weeks later I’m at home doing my laundry while my folks are going out to the burger place with my kid brother, and they ask me if I want something to go. I said “I’ve never been, but can you get me the burger with lots of onions on it? I’ve heard good things.”
Couple hours later they came back with a very plain burger stacked super high with very thinly sliced onions, just gently sauteed.
It was fucking delicious.
