I visited NYC from June 20th to 27th and it was wonderful.

Breakfast: my hotel (The Box House Hotel in Greenpoint, Brooklyn) had breakfast included and it was very good for the price. They offered scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, pancakes, bagels, fruit, pastries, etc. and everything tasted good, especially the self-made yogurt bowls with granola and fruit.

L'Industrie Pizzeria: my favorite food spot. I've been to both of their places multiple times because I liked the pizza so much. Let me tell you something, I live a half-day drive away from Italy, but this was the best pizza I've ever had. I liked Fig Jam & Bacon the most, followed by Pepperoni. I went there three times.

Katz's Delicatessen: of course I had to try their Pastrami Sandwich. The meat was awesome, very juicy and flavorful. Those pickles you get as a side were also tasty. I feel like the meat-bread ratio was off though. Sadly I only found out afterwards that you could order more slices of bread.

Xi'an Famous Foods: I had the Lamb Noodles with regular spiciness. I thought I would have to order two servings to be satiated, but the portion size was a pleasant surprise, especially considering the price. You could see the food being made freshly in the kitchen and it didn’t taste like cheap fast food at all.

7th Street Burger: the burgers were a bit too greasy for my liking, but they tasted great nevertheless. No fancy ingredients, just meat, cheese, onions, pickles and their special sauce. I was a big fan of the fries as well, very crispy and delicious.

Los Tacos No. 1: I tried every taco variation and my favorite was chicken and pork. The beef wasn't really tender and I expected more from the cactus as well. Still one of the best taco spots I've ever been to.

Café Mogador: the watermelon salad was very refreshing on a hot day. It consisted of marinated watermelon, arugula salad, feta cheese, candied walnuts and a few spices and herbs. I had the chicken skewers with rice and vegetables as a main dish. Tender meat, flavorful rice and fresh vegetables. It was a light yet delicious meal.

Dominique Ansel Bakery: famous for their Cronut, which totally lived up to its hype. It was crispy and sugary on the outside and filled with a sweet cream. I wish I had a place like this near me because it was the best pastry I've ever had.

Levain Bakery: enormous cookies that tasted exactly like a cookie is supposed to taste. Crunchy edges and very soft inside. My favorite cookie was the Oatmeal Raisin cookie, but the ones with Caramel Coconut and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter were awesome as well.

Magnolia Bakery: I went there for the Banana Pudding, but I tried some Cheesecakes too and everything tasted so good. The Banana Pudding reminded me a bit of cake batter. I also liked the small pieces of real banana in the pudding.

Sunday in Brooklyn: I chose this restaurant for the last dinner. I wanted something American, and my wish was definitely fulfilled. I had a Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup and a Hot Chicken Sandwich. What can I say, it was delicious and a wonderful ending for this vacation.

It feels like I'm writing the same thing for every place, but I really liked everything very much. I went to a few more restaurants, but I focused on the most popular places for this post.

I enjoyed every second in NYC and I can't wait to come back!
