The label says “Spicy-seeming and not really spicy, just a little spicy chili oil.”
The word I’m translating here as “chili oil” is *raayu*, which refers to oil (sometimes sesame oil) infused with chili.

It’s often sold as “Chili Crisp”

Sooo good with cucumber!

I love it, and the title is hilarious. I often recommend it to friends. It’s great on cold tofu.

At our home we call it “crack”. Once you have used this, especially on egg, there is no going back, here the small glass is like 5-6ish Euros.
Wonderfully salty, garlicy and MSG laced, with a slight zing, so good.

Delicious but horrendously high in calories cause of the straight oils… one of the things in my life that I had to begrudgingly give up with serious sadness in my heart.

They sell it at our grocery store here in Oakland. My kids say “wouldn’t this be better with a little S&B?” Kind of a chile crisp but not spicy like the Chinese brands.

Just brought back many jars from Japan. It’s findable in the U.S. but 5x the price
