Does my regulator look OK as far as the gap between the black housing and metal? First time grill grill and bought this used. I leak tested with soppy water but the tank was outside of the housing.

OP relax. It’s fine.
If you tested it with soppy water outside of the bbq, it will work just the same inside the bbq.

If you’re ever questioning your seal in the future, use some Teflon tape(plumbers tape) around the threads and test again. I’ve never turned back. Long time propane kid here.

Had this with my spirit. Turned out to be a bad oring on the tank. Worst case file a warranty claim with Weber. They are amazing.
Such a weird thing to ask on Reddit. Is this reverse psychology at work? Because I know damn well every single person is going to upvote this lol. Also, seems fine to me op. If you soapy water tested and no leaks than you should be good.
