PSA: Vegetable gardeners, always do one more walkthrough!
Found this big guy on my cherry tomatoes. Amazingly, I missed him during the first couple of search and destroy missions of the day.
I may not have had a plant to come back to had I waited.😅

Last year I tried to pull one off with bbq tongs and it SPIT AT ME! Thankfully haven’t had to tussle with any this year 🤞🏻

One plus for using big concrete wire cages is they attract birds. Birds love to land on my cages and eat bugs. I’ve heard of birds munching on tomatoes but I’ve never experienced any damage, that I know of

I find it easier to look for their droppings. Much easier to spot than the worm itself. See droppings, look straight up because gravity.

Planted tomatoes in different spot got tomato worms, wonder if they came in on the plants I bought.

I took scissors to them one year because there were so many and I didn’t feel like dealing them. Snip them in half and they quickly donate the plant nutrients back to the root of the plant.
