I mean it's almost exclusively a reheated slab from the nights before. Naturally it'll be more cooked but I've never really seen anyone give a damn for breakfast steak how overcooked it is

I don’t understand. From the night before!?

Well, I don’t tend to have steaks for breakfast at home (it’s a great idea, though!), but if I have steak & eggs for breakfast at a restaurant, it’s usually a NY or ribeye that’s on the thinner side. Funny, I never really thought about that before!

But please fully cook my chicken/country-fried steak! 🥩🍳🥂🍾😋🤌👍

I don’t know about you, but I don’t like anything too chewy in the morning. So, not too rare and not well done would still be my preference.

I like a rare strip with my eggs… I like a rare strip with my lunch and my cardiologist loves me… but seriously you do you, I prefer my steaks on the rare side.

Cook steak how you like it. I accidentally overcooked a steak the other night, probably 20 degrees too far. Was still delicious.

  6. If it’s reheated from the night b4 yes. Otherwise ask how u want it or send it back 👍🏻

You’re asking the most zealous community on reddit. Beware.

  8. If my breakfast steak is cooked to the point of jerky I’ll be upset. But you’re right, for breakfast steak, my standards are a little lower

Cook the steaks the way You like them. What’s “perfect” for you is probably different than what I like.

yes imho “steak and eggs” steak is typically medium or more least that’s the way I do it

I use the defrost function on the microwave to gently heat it up. 1 min at a time to make sure it doesn’t get cooked over temp. Many times it’s as good as the night before.

I rarely have steak and eggs for breakfast but when I do it’s usually leftover steak so I concede that if I want it warm it will be more well than I would prefer. If I have an inkling I’m going to do steak and eggs then I’ll go extra rare the night before and save some thicker pieces I can still heat up without getting too far over medium

  13. KismaiAesthetics

Breakfast steaks tend to be thinner and smaller, thus they end up more done.

Eat it however you like my brother. I had coffee for breakfast 😔

  15. CompoteStock3957

I eat my steaks in general well it be breakfast or dinner or lunch blue rare to rare

  16. Trump_Dabs

That’s the only time acceptable to not still be mooing as I bite into it. Just made some leftover with last nights rib eye leftovers

  17. McRaeWritescom

You give me steak and eggs, and I’ll eat that shit from rare to medium. Some carnivores and omnivores ain’t picky.

  18. mikeybagss8888

Yeah if I have breakfast steak it’s usually left over so I cook it a bit more when reheating

  19. NoxInSocks

Yea, most of the time my steak and eggs are using leftover steak. So ‘researing’ it makes rhe medrare more med in my case. But I love my steak either way but pref medrare+

  20. TheoryOfSilence_

That’s a no for the ketchup on my steak for me

  21. AnAdorableScout

I’m apparently insane, because if I’m having breakfast steak I prefer it to be well done. Same with leftover steak. Of course, my family refuses to do that

  22. ghostman51

Yes since most of the time it’s left over steak made at home and reheating just cooks it more. Usually making a hash with it. Breakfast diners aren’t steakhouses so medium is about what I expect to get if not closer to well done.

  23. I know at diners or chain breakfast spots its usually a lesser quality steak, and is usually more fatty and has more gristle so I usually go med/med well for breakfast. If I know its a good steak ill still go med rare for breakfast.

I understand the Australians eating steak for breakfast before they go out and round up a million sheep over 300 square miles but for me it’s a banana, an orange and a glass of kefir. I would die if I ate that 🥹
