It honestly tasted great , I need a lot of progress , but I’ll forgive myself sense I’m just a beginner
Things I’ll fix next time :
1- to not cut the cake unless it fully cooled down because it shrinked kinda badly and didn’t fit into the cake ring I cut it with
2-soak it more , it seemed like it didn’t have any coffee , because I feared it would soak up too much after my past tiramisu experience
3-figure out this buttercream separation thing because it looks frustrating( ruined the whole thing) and the texture of it is grainy
4-try to make the layers more even , I’m horrible at leveling
Overall a fun cake to make and nice coffee flavor

Beginner here as well but I think that looks fantastic! Great job!
Are you kidding this opera looks fire ! This is one of the hardest cake to make and you nailed it kudos
Opera cakes are extremely technical and tricky; you’ve done an absolutely fantastic job for your first one! Truly
Close your eyes and relish the taste.
I would eat it all🧡💚💥
Heh, this title reminds me of myself. I always want my first try at any bake to be perfect and I’m hard on myself when it’s not.
Consider the first one a rough draft… You learned a lot from it and you know the pitfalls now. I’m betting you’ll nail it on your next try.
You have to learn the thing before you can be a master at it! Keep it up!
I stopped scrolling and thought to myself “MAN that looks good,” so you’ve definitely accomplished something here
Looks delicious!
I think it looks delicious and would be delighted to have a slice!

I have never heard of this before and now I must eat one.

For a first attempt at this notorious dessert, you did an AMAZING job!
holy crap that’s your first attempt?! bravo
I’ve listened to some pretty miserable operas. It happens.
Looks good to me.
I don’t know how they ought to look…but it looks lovely and delicious.
Looks 🔥🔥🔥
What is miserable about it ?? It looks absolutely delicious
Makes me wanna kick my dog
A treat!!!! That looks delish
Buttercream splitting means the butter you added to the pate bomb was too cold. I suggest beating the butter separately before mixing with pate bomb.
