It is on rarer side with good seared or gray band.

I would not call it blue; blue would be no cook/heat 2/3 center. Your definitely have seared cook meat but still red center as rare.

The piece on the edge looks blue, the other side looks rare. I’m thinking that’s only due to the lighting, so I’m going with blue.

  3. We all know how this will end and who is right, save yourself ahead of time

Wife is always right, even when she is wrong. In this case, she isn’t

Doesn’t matter what you call it..if Mama ain’t happy, then nobody happy.

It’s blue, man. If that’s how you like to eat it, cool. But the internal temp on that steak is cool, too. Meaning it’s blue.

Looks like my most recent medium rare steak at Texas Roadhouse smh

I mean if there is any translucency it is definitely blue.

  9. Textbook blue.

The test is to touch that center bit, if there’s no warmth at all, it’s blue.

It’s fine to eat and it’s a preference, as long as the outside is seared you are good to go… but that’s blue.

Idk, I only care what the hell is that green stuff? Looks like it has snot all over it

Almost rare, shy a minute or two but this is def blue.

If your steak was a kid who was an inch or two short for the posted height limit on an amusement park ride, there’s a chance the ride operator might do a solid. Similarly, you might call this rare.

is anyone else kind of sick of these “what is this steak” posts?.. like how hard can it be to identify it.. they’re like the only posts in this sub now

Definitely blue, it’s completely raw in the middle.

  15. Assinine_one

Blue. Because of the hard sear and slightly less than rare temp.

  16. Fabulous-Attempt6656

Bluer than your balls that night after arguing over the temp dawg

  17. Zestyclose_Big_9090

It looks delicious either way but I’m thinking this is blue vs rare.

White fat lines… that’s blue as hell. Next time let your steaks sit out for 30 to 40 minutes before cooking.

We call it caveman when boyfriend cooks bc he freestyles. I use a thermometer

Those mushrooms are just as underdone wtf

Rare? My sweet summer child, that’s blackened but raw.

All you did was sear it and serve it. I bet the center was still as cold as the refrigerator. Your wife is right, as usual. Next time cook the steak, at least the one you give her. Pro tip. If you don’t know the difference between rare and blue, use a meat thermometer. Then you know exactly what it is.

“Still twitchin’” if you’d ask my grandma 😂

Internal temp when pulling is the answer. Unless you know that we’ll still be speculating based on a poor photo.
