Friend of mine ordered Medium Rare. Obviously it is not, but is it rare or blue? Can someone settle it for us?

Cold raw and bad grey band. No gradient. That takes skill to fuck something up that bad

I love blue and that’s blue AND only 1 side is seared I prefer 2 seared sides

Blue. The meat looks almost purple and has no real fibers visible / has a bit of a shine to it

When your steak comes out looking like seared ahi, you know you have a problem.

Thats dffinetly blue if not completely raw. The steak was probably frozen and not thawed completely.

Not only is it blue, it looks like it was cooked while frozen.

Clearly wasn’t at room temp, quick sear, blue. Send it back.

Did you cook it over a heated argument?

Moooooooooooo. I think the chef forgot to put it into the oven to cook. If a restaurant guarantees it’s medium rare – tell them to bring out a thermometer and show you 130-135°F

  10. I have a blue house

    With a blue window

Blue is the colour of all that I wear

    Blue are the steaks

And all the trees are too

You would want to touch the centre and see what temperature it is if it’s cold it’s raw/blue. If it’s warm it’s rare.

I’d say raw. There’s like no sear too. That cook needs training.

    Hmm… it’s “medium frozen” 🤣

  14. Looks like the chef cooked it with his phone torch

The sear is terrible, but I do loooove a blue steak!

I don’t understand why 70% of the posts here are questions about doneness. It’s not really subjective.

  17. Lmao, that grey rim… that restaurant doesnt deserve any customers ffs. They killed that steak twice.
