Need Advice!

I upgraded from Delonghi Dedica with modded steam wand to the Bambino plus.

I'm not happy with the espresso shots even if I tried to dial in go finer, wdt, etc. with the stock portafilter and tamper. The shorts are watery and bitter, the puck is soggy and sticks to the showerscreen. My dedica did a much better job with bottomless portafilter, ims basket etc.

• I have already ordered bottomless portafilter, tamper, ims basket and ims showerscreen etc. not sure how big of a difference off of that will make.

• What I needed to ask is:
1. Is my bambino plus defective that it cannot pull a single good shot with the stock unpressurised basket and tamper?
2. Im now considering it could be my cheap sgp grinder that has served me well, is it worth upgrading it to Mazzer mini A in pictures 2,3,4.

Im getting this one used for 300€ not sure if its worth or should I save and get df64 instead?
