My wife and I celebrated her birthday at Saison last night after a day of wine tasting in Napa. I went with her nightly wine pairing but my wife was wined out so they offered her a cocktail progression which paired well with our meal.

The food and service were excellent. We sat right across from the open kitchen and watching the chefs work and it was neat to see the attention to detail and passion they put in. We just finished watching season 3 of The Bear, so hearing the order “Fire two Lamb” and hearing the response “Chef” was cool to see in action as well.

Our favorite dish was the lamb. My wife said the blueberries served with it “tasted like Christmas” and it was weird how well that described. The duck liver stroopwafel, Uni on Sourdough, and Wagyu were all awesome as well.

We found it weird it only has two Michelin stars, definitely on par with some three stars we have dined at. Worth the visit if you find yourself in San Francisco.
