This cake was ~semi-disastrous~ today as 1/4th of the cake batter leaked out of my mom's old, springform pan. It was browning too fast on top and seemed underdone in the middle. It just all around felt like an absolute mess, but I managed to save a couple of clean slices to pack for families I tutor for.
I just wanted to share this today because everyone will always share what their best work looks like (myself included) but sometimes it's comforting to see that perfection isn't always the reality.
Just my random thoughts/two cents for the day π« I hope this brings comfort to all my baking friends out here π€

[Peach and Raspberry Cake with Oat Streusel](https://redcurrantbakery.com/peach-cake-with-oat-streusel/#recipe)
Here is the cake if anyone isn’t completely turned off by the second picture π€£ (it was yummy I promise! I think next time I’ll dice the peaches into chunks instead of using slices as personal preference/possibly to help with the weight of the peaches themselves)
This is all of us!
The ugly ones are the bakerβs tax! Just as tasty and my favorite because they are MINE.
Looks yummy, though! And your dress looks pretty, too!
I love the ugly and broken ones lol. More for me
that looks SO good I will eat it even in picture 2 no problem
Thanks for sharing this.
Some days at the oven just end up like this. That’s why we are bakers! If you don’t wind up practically tearing your hair out to get some issue fixed and then step back to shout in triumph, you feel like you haven’t accomplished enough.
I loved eating the slice of pie that I didn’t serve last Thanksgiving cause the edge of the crust got singed.
It was midnight, and I gave myself a nice scoop of butter pecan ice cream to go with it. π π€£
The dog thought the crust tasted great!
