I spent a week in Italy and a few days in Spain and realized how much junk is in American food. So I thought I’d start baking my own bread as a start to a healthier lifestyle.
They are supposed to be Ciabatta rolls. I guess I'll have to figure out how to make them more uniform. The big ones are about the size of a softball.

Come hang out at /r/Breadit – ciabatta is my white whale. High hydration and shaping high hydration dough takes a lot of practice. Delicious, but sometimes ugly practice.

welcome to the wonderful world of baking. Congrats to realising that bread is only flour, water and some salt (plus yeast). Sometimes a bit of olive oil, and add some eggs, butter and sugar if you wanna make a cake.

American food is sooo disgusting. They are truly poisoning us daily. You will not regret making the change to a healthier form of baking! I feel so much better after starting to bake my own bread and eat fresh produce. I won’t buy anything from chain stores if I can help it.

The bread you buy in a typical supermarket is using bargain basement flour that is not properly proofed for at least 6 hours. It’s no wonder people build up a gluten intolerance and why the bread tastes like nothing.
With a nice sourdough starter, bread is a piece of cake. And packed with flour up the wazoo.
