I’m a low-n-slow on the BBQ type of guy, but there was a guy selling Palisade peaches on the side of the road so I turned on my oven for the very first time…

  1. I tried to follow along with Sally’s Baking Addicton’s [Perfect Peach Pie](https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/peach-pie-recipe/) recipe, but my meat slappers aren’t quite dainty enough to make it very pretty.

I’m fairly certain I overworked the dough as it tastes like a soggy cookie rather than a flaky crust but the goop inside is pretty tasty.

I only did one braid because it took me 3 tries just to get that one done, I don’t know how y’all do that.

Also, what the heck is “friasage”?

I’m Commander Shepard and this is my favorite pie on the citadel. 😌

Friarsage is a way of incorporating the butter into the flour using the heel of your hand to smear the butter into the dough. This technique turns the butter into flat shingles to promote flakiness in the baked crust.

Pie crust is the hardest part of a pie, IMO.

If low and slow is your schtick, would you happen to have a smoker? If you do, [this](https://castironrecipes.com/smoked-peach-pie-with-video/) recipe is absolutely DIVINE! Pair it with a small side of vanilla bean ice cream and it’s darn near pass-out worthy!

Your pie looks delicious btw, just adding this recipe because it happens to combine BBQ and peach pie lol

This is great! Look at what you can do when you put down your meat /s

That looks glorious. Pie crust is not easy and it looks like you did fantastic for your first time!!

To get the best flake dont worry about a fancy smear technique just used frozen butter and grate it perfect every time.
That pie looks absolutely mouth watering though!
