For those who don't know: this originates from Russian navy and then it has migrated and evolved through Russian households.
For this recipe, I used spaghetti. The sauce is made with onions, ground beef, butter + I added mushrooms, parmesan and spicy mustard for some additional taste + I like it with more sauce from all of those juices (there's no exact recipe for the Navy-style, unlike f.ex. for carbonara or amatriciana, so I haven't sinned)

The traditional recipe in the Navy used just finely chopped cured meat as a topping, nowadays – people use either ground or canned meat along with sautéed onions and other possible toppings (like concentrated tomato paste, carrots or mushrooms). I’m a staunch fan of using ground meat in my navy-style pasta.
Also, for those who are here to scold me for the meat being too gray for their liking:
1) it’s ground beef/pork mix
2) don’t kick it until you try it – it’s so rich and amazing.
