Eat the meat off it and save the bones for fish stock?

I second eating the cheek and using it for stock. Sooooo yummy!!! Toss all of the bones and even the fins into the stock too. Strain it well, and you’ll have a good base for a lot of recipes.

The head is good to think about new ideas and learn new skills and more ability to handle difficulties.
On the fish is good to say better yours than mine.

Eat it, eyes and cheeks are the best bits!

This one market I worked at would do blackened fish cheeks. So salty, spicy and delicious.

Put it on a spike to remind the other fish to never fall out of line.

My family used to fish with a boat and net every summer. We would catch Springs and salmon and would preserve a lot for the winter. Grandma would can them. while she was dressing the Springs, Grandma would cut the head in half and bake it for dinner. She would get the eye and cheek since those were her favorite. My uncle loved to eat the brain

Pick any and all meat out you can and eat it!

Great for gardens, compost. That’s what my uncle done with his fish heads and shredded newspapers

  13. You pick through and eat the meat. There is usually some meat in the cheeks (very desirable piece), and some tucked behind the color bone. With bigger fish heads, there is collagen, some fat and skin of course that is tucked in between all the bones.
