My wife made this Cake for a friend.

I think it looks really good. She's upset because some of the crumbs didn't stick.

I believe she used corn syrup.

Is there anything better to use?

Aside from corn syrup, the only thing I can think of is (pasteurised) egg white.

But the cake looks absolutely stunning!

It’s so realistic I don’t even want to eat it because I don’t want sand in my mouth lol. I would absolutely smash though. That much work on the outside must have an amazing inside.

That looks amazing. It gives my teeth an indescribable gritty pain just looking at it.

Thank you all for the compliments and suggestions. I think the cakes that she makes are incredible. She doesn’t feel the same about her own creations. Your compliments will surely help with her confidence.

Sand is ? (Ground nuts or almond flour with raw sugar)?

It looks absolutely amazing! She should be proud of this it’s so pretty, as for getting the cribs to stick, did she use fondant to cover the cake? If so she could buy edible glue! I used it on my cousins anniversary cake, about a year ago, to get graham cracker crumbs to stick to her s’mores cake
Edited to say she could also use a thin coat of buttercream icing if edible glue isn’t an option

That’s really cool. My only suggestion would be to put sand on the ground around it. Looks a bit odd on the shiny gold plate.

I honestly think this should be a thing. Chocolate eggs for easter, gingerbread houses for winter, and sand castle cakes for summer.

  14. She really captured the essence of the sand 😍
