I used this recipe with a few changes. Instead of 1.5 tsp yeast, I just used a whole packet of instant rise for the donuts. Instead of 1 tsp of vanilla I used 1 tbsp vanilla paste for the crème patisserie.   10. My husband and I elected to have donuts at our wedding instead of cake (our first date was at a diner and we served breakfast food at the reception). One of the flavors was Crème Brûlée and it was by far the most popular.

    It’s been 6 years and I haven’t had a donut that good since 🤤

  19. Instead of corn syrup, I’m going to try reduced-to-the-same-consistancy apple cider (or other fruit juice) with apple jack or brown sugar bourbon. It’s an opportunity to add flavor and avoid the negatives of corn syrup.
