My wife is pretty proud of her bitter melon harvests lately. This is her haul today.

I told my wife we’d be wasting space by planting bitter melon because our climate is just too short and cool here in Eastern Ontario, Canada zone 4b. Once again, she was right and I was wrong, and she’s pretty smug about it. I thought perhaps she might get a couple before first frost, but she has many bags of them already frozen, and so many extra that she’s been giving them away to people at work.
Now if I could only learn to like them myself!

Love her dress. You just gotta plant stuff, something will grow. Congrats on the harvest.

What do you do with bitter melons? Does she prepare them in a certain way? Always been curious about growing them.

Wow! Well done! I’ve tried growing them, but never got much of a yield even though my climate should be appropriate. NE Texas, 8a.

They look so good! Mine are solidly providing fruit but my bitter melons are smallish even when ripe. But considering I only did two plants this year, I am looking forward to planting a good four or five next year.
