Several years ago, I was at the IKEA cafe (not the Redhook one) and had a mini princess cake (but the marzipan topping was pink not green), and I've kind of been thinking about it on and off ever since lol. I wanted to get a princess cake for my birthday earlier this year b/c making them seems like a very involved process but it didn't happen. Anyone know if there any bakeries, Scandinavian or otherwise (and that are not the IKEA restaurant) in the city that would sell these cakes?

Aquavit sells full size ones for pre-order pick up and they are cheaper than I thought – $45
I’ve heard that Fabrique will sell a full size one, but I think you have to call!
Omg, I still dream about this cake. The closest I could find was Aquavit, you need to order ahead if you go there.
Been asking this question for YEARS
I made it for my kid. It was easier than I thought! It was delicious
The Principessa cake at Sant Ambroeus is this and I’ve seen it at most of their branches. You can get it by the slice for $16.
Paris Baguette used to carry them. Have no idea if they were any good.
There’s an excellent Swedish bakery called Fabrique on W 14th in Manhattan that probably makes them. Try their kardamombullar
Aquavit ! And its delicious
I had a slice of princess cake in June at Björk, the cafe inside Scandinavia House on Park Ave. Not sure if they always carry it, but it’s worth inquiring.
