What type of squash is this? I’m growing winter squash for the first time this year – very interested to see if they’ll ripen in time
Hey-im-kpuff
I got a few blue doll pumpkins from a pumpkin patch last year and saved the seeds. I decided to try planting some and o have a really nice solid plant just now laying down and vining out! It may not grow true to seed for a few reasons but it’s still fun to try!
Probably kabocha bc I love the texture and that you can eat the skin! Wow that squash is gorgeous!!! Growing a few varieties this year but my butternut are going crazy!

I’m growing these tasty little guys for the first time this year. I’m excited watching them grow, haha!!

Honestly? They all taste kind of the same to me. No shade, that’s just how I feel.
But gun to my head, I’m picking delicatta with some fresh goat cheese, crushed almonds, and good olive oil. Maybe a fresh sprinkle of dill and parsley.

Honeynut squash! They are small and super sweet and resistant to downy mildew and grow on small compact vines.
So far red kuri for soups etc. butterbush for pies, cookies, and other sweets.
I’m rarely successful with ted kuri in my climate.

My favorites are Delicata for short-term eating, Red Kuri for moderate-term, and Kabocha for deep winter.

I’m guessing I’m too late to start winter crops? I’ve missed it the last three years I’ve been trying!

I’m not from America, so I’m new to the pumpkin pie game, but after watching and combining ideas from some youtube cooking channels I managed to make an amazing pumpkin pie last year, using a galeux d’eysines pumpkin I grew. They appear very warty, because of all the sugar it pushes out through the skin. Tastes amazing.

Hubbard are the yummiest.

Looks Awesome!
We’ve had 0 luck with winter squash. They succumb to the many problems we have in this climate (heat, drought and bugs).

Black Futsu. They’re squash borer resistant.
