First time canning pears from our pear tree in our backyard. I removed the skin and core and sliced them into pieces and let them sit in a lemon water bath until canning process was ready. I also made a simple syrup mix on the side of 6 cups of water to 2/3rd cup of sugar. Will be taking the bands off today! Just did the boiling last night. Is all of the space left at the bottom fine, should I have shoved the cans more full?
