Let me preface this with it’s hard to make a bad burger. Most places make a good burgers (which makes good burgers average).

I would say this is an above average burger, not my current Chicago fav though (tie between Au Cheval and Stop Along). But almost any place that allows me to double the patty, add fried egg, and bacon, will be an above average burger in my book.

I do think it lacks a signature / special sauce, or any sauce that isn’t mayo, ketchup, or mustard.

The wait time was about 50 minutes after seating ourselves, despite not a lot of people being present at the bar (relatively full house, but the whole space and patio is small). I’d imagine online orders might be booking since this place is getting praised on social media. It definitely looked bigger on Instagram / Tik Tok.

Definitely worth a try for smash burger lovers. The burger is $8 without add-ons.

  1. Added context to not provide false hope: single patty burger is $8. Double patty is $12. Also the place is a good vibe and the patio is dog-friendly.

“Pleaser” sauce wasn’t unique enough for you?

Seriously good burgers, in a local neighborhood environment. That’s a win for me.

  3. Check out Ludlow Liquors near by for their smash. Thought it was a bit better than Small Bar

  4. Been twice now, the burger meat desperately needs some seasoning. The sauce is good but doesn’t make up that lack of flavor within the meat

Am I the only one that’s annoyed that they insist this is in Logan Square when everything north of Diversey is Avondale?

I’ve lived catty corner from here for six years. The burger is good, but I miss the old menu. I hope the hype dies down eventually because on the weekends there is a line out the door. Used to be place I could stop in for a beer or two. Now the place is constantly filled with groups. Glad they are doing good business but selfishly hate how packed it is now. Also, the beer selection kind of sucks compared to before.

I thought it was pretty bland. I get that it needs sauce, but if that’s what makes it, it’s a miss for me.
