It’s a dish that’s like a combination of yakiniku and sushi. In Japan, it’s known as 'Meat Sushi.'
This image shows an all-you-can-eat Meat Sushi option for about $18.
If it’s not all-you-can-eat, it's offered at around $1 to $2 per piece.

Any horse in these pics?
I tried raw pork and onion in Germany ([they call it *mett*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mett)). That’s a nope for me.
Did you grow up eating raw meat?
Among Japanese people, izakayas that promote meat sushi on Tabelog (like the Yelp) are definitely not good food overall.
It takes a lot of luck to find good meat sushi.
I had Hida beef sashimi/sushi in Takayama and it was delicious! One version was raw and the other was briefly flamed with a blow torch and then made into nigiri. Was not game to try the horse while I was in Kumamoto though!
