Where my Mediterranean carb fiends at?

With every MD meal I typically have bread of some kind, or air fryer fries. Still a huge improvement for me coming from snacking on processed high sugar foods which I don’t really crave anymore, apart from the odd croissant or pastry for breakfast, especially when travelling.

This was a turkish flatbread, regular wholewheat flatbread with homemade hummus and couscous sprinkled with pomegranate seeds (obsessed). I would typically eat twice this amount but because its so much fiber it’s very filling.

Ironically I lowered my A1C through modified MD, and it made me eat a lot more carbs! My primary care doctor was not surprised. Not all carbs are created equal and letting myself have filling whole grains at meals means less sugary beverages or candy in between meals.

All the instagram fitness and diet influencers would have me believe more carbs would raise my blood sugar, but it all depends on the type of carbs and what you’re eating with them.

  3. I love flatbread and pita bread! Looks great, OP!

Do you have a recipe or link to the bread with seeds on it?
