What else is hummus made of if not chickpea?

Also what are the green herbs?

I often make hummus at home with tahini, half white chickpeas and half brown chickpeas (available in Indian food stores, they bring an incredible nutty taste). Zaatar (available in mid-eastern food shops) is a must.

One day, as I didn’t have the time to soak and cook chickpeas, I gave a try to red lentils (*lentilles corail* in French) which cook in 10 minutes. The resulting hummus was delicious.

Looks great, but chicpea is definitely implied when making hummus. Usually it would be stated if some sort of other bean was used instead, chicpea being the default.

    Hummus looks good!

But did Contigo pay you to post this?

I add a roasted beet to my recipe. Delicious and a pretty magenta color!

Hummus is Arabic for chickpeas. You probably order chai tea as well or naan bread.

These kids these days and their creations! What’s next, a tomato based marinara? Or a flour-based bread?
